Stony Brook University Medical Center is Deploying Smartphone Messaging for 3,000 BlackBerry Smartphones

We’re thrilled that Stony Brook University Medical Center has chosen our pager replacement and smartphone messaging system, Amcom Mobile Connect. They will be using it for 3,000 BlackBerry smartphones throughout their facility to handle high-volume messaging.

This well-respected medical center will also benefit from Mobile Connect’s encrypted messages and full visibility and traceability of all message activity. This will include time and date stamps showing when messages are sent, delivered, and opened, as well as when responses are sent and the information contained in each response.

You can read more in the press release we issued today.

  1. We find it typical of the new Amcom that you choose to not even publicly mention in your blog or on your website the passing of the man who really built Amcom. Jack Collins built the company and its reputation as a leader with character and integrity and earned our respect forever. He continues to be truly missed as a business partner and a loyal friend.

  2. To whomoever posted this earlier,

We are sorry to read your comment. Please know that all of us are saddened by the passing of Jack Collins, founder of Amcom.

Jack was the heart and soul of our organization for many years and shaped so many of the values the company still holds today.

He will be missed by everyone at this company, especially his son, Sean, and daughter, Kathy, who still are in leadership roles here at Amcom.

It is out of respect to Sean and Kathy that we have not yet begun the process of communicating his obituary to the broader Amcom community.

We fully intend to do that soon via letters and a tribute in our upcoming December customer newsletter.

    Sincerely,
    Amcom Software

Appropriately, this appeared above the fold in the printed Sunday edition. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Collins family. Thank You.
